The main issue is that the story is really an afterthought. The action sequences are dull and the comedy comes out of nowhere. The first half doesn't have enough going on to draw the audience in. The second half of the movie is more interesting and fun, but the whole movie is pretty weak and slow moving. The chemistry between the lead actors doesn't help either. There is nothing interesting about the characters. And while the whole idea of a president's daughter and a college boy is a fun premise, the movie never explores that territory. The twist makes you think the movie should be more interesting, but it isn't. And it never goes much deeper into what might have gone on between the characters. It's boring and predictable.

The characters are uninteresting and the ideas are unoriginal. It's never interesting or fun to watch. The director goes to the right places and the actors are generally good. But there is nothing that makes the movie worth seeing. You might as well watch the original. The Blu-ray has some good extras that are worth checking out.
