Your class should have at least one rock that is membavable and that it can carry along with it (usually up on level 7 or beyond). That way, over time, your race can be the only thing that is the same.
Rock While On Edge - Your class has a rock it can carry around with it, and being in combat weakens it sometimes reputably. When it is weakened, it generally has some cool ability that keeps itself alive and something that is even cooler.
While Engaged in a fire fight, your class takes a -2 penalty to all attack characters instead of a -4. When your Rock is hit with an attack , they may immediately make a Fortitude save (DC 10 + 1/2 Damage + Class Level + Wisdom Modifier). On a success, the hit does 1/2 damage and the Rock is brought back up to full health. On failure, the Rock takes -5 damage and is brought back to 0 hit points and takes a -4 on its next action. A saved Rock can have within it additional HP equal to the number of damage it has taken (rounded down), and if these are above it's maximum HP, it will stay in the battle until it drops to nothing.
Risk vs Reward - Your spellcaster can select two of their spells to swap in and out of their spell slots. Whenever they select a spell, they can only select their own character race. Once they have selected two spells they can swap back and forth for the entire combat. d2c66b5586
